D-Val-Leu-Lys-AMC is a selective fluorogenic substrate for plasmin. Plasmin is a plasma serine protease whose main role is to dissolve fibrin blood clots.
Activity is quantified by release of free fluorescent 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin (AMC) which excites at 360-380 nm and emits at 440-460 nm.
